THE SHAMANIC CENTRE: As well as offer regular one to one private sessions during the day and yoga classes three times a week, the Shamanic Centre is also our family residency, therefore visits to the Shamanic Centre is organised by appointment only. We often pick people up at the bus terminus in Balerno if they are coming by bus for groups, trainings or one to one sessions whenever possible.

(Pirnie Ha' is about half a mile into the country and in Cockburnhill Road it is the only house on the right side of the road.)

How to get to the Shamanic Centre

Balerno is located in the South West of Edinburgh, 20 minutes by car from Edinburgh city centre, 30 min by bus from train station in the city centre, 10 minutes by taxi from Hermiston Gate train station, 15 minutes by taxi from the Airport, 10 minutes driving from the City bypass, 45 minutes by car from Glasgow city centre.

By bus from Edinburgh: busses 44 or 44A. From the City Centre it takes around 30 minutes in the bus to Balerno. Then it is a 30 minutes walk to us. You can text and check our availability to pick you up in Balerno.

Walking once you are in Balerno: If you take bus 44A you can ask the driver to drop you close to Cockburhill Road and from there it is a 15 minutes walking. If you take bus 44 you stop at the bus terminus, position yourself with the green field on your left and the houses on your right at Cockburnhill Crescent. Walk down Cockburnhill Crescent for about 15 minutes until you get to Cockburnhill Road. From there it is another 15 minutes walking into the country. Pass farm on your left, pass farm on your right, pass sign saying Bavelaw garage, The Shamanic Centre, Pirnie Ha' is the next house on the right. Pirnie Ha' is also the only house on the right side of Cockburnhill road.

By car from Edinburgh: From the city centre in Edinburgh, go in the direction of Lanark Road West, pass Juniper Green and Currie villages. Balerno is the next Village. At the roundabout go straight up the hill, pass all houses on your right, when you see the last house, a cream house in the corner, turn right into Cockburnhill Road. Pass farm on the left, pass farm on the right, pass sign saying Bavelaw garage, The Shamanic Centre, Pirnie Ha', is the next house on the right. We are the only house on the right side of Cockburnhill Road.

By car from outside Edinburgh: Follow directions to A71. At Hermiston Gate Park and Ride roundabout turn left, at next roundabout pass Herriot What University on your right, keep going straight ahead up the hill pass another roundabout, keep going up the hill until you come to Main Road called Lanark Road West where you turn righ. Pass Currie village and Balerno is the next Village.

By train: Most trains will take you to the City Centre and from there you take the bus 44 or 44A which takes 30 minutes to get to Balerno. There are some trains that can take you to Curryhill station. Curryhill is a 5 min in the car from us and sometimes depending on our availability we can pick you up there. Most trains also stop at Hermiston Gate Train Station where you can take a taxi to Balerno which will take about 10 minutes.

From the airport: A taxi would costs around £20 or £22 and takes about 15 minutes to get to us. Alternatively you can take a bus to city centre (40 min) and then 44 or 44A to Balerno (another 30 min) .
